Crocheted Doll Blanky

What you'll need

50g DK ( Light Worsted Weight) Yarn
5.00 mm Hook
Sewing Needle

Blanky

Foundation Row Chain 5, Slip stitch in the first chain
Row 1 Chain 3 (counts as first double crochet), 1 Double crochet, Ch 2, *2 double crochet, Ch 2 Repeat from* around (6 lots of 2 double crochet). Slip into the top of the Ch 3, then slip stitch into the Ch 2 gap.
Row 2 Ch 3, 1 double crochet into the Ch 2 gap,  Ch 2, 2 double crochet into the same st, Ch 2, 2 *double crochet in to the next Ch 2 gap, Ch 2, 2 double crochet into the same st, Ch 2. Repeat from* around. Slip into the top of the Ch 3.
Row 3 Ch 3, *1 double crochet in the next st,1 double crochet into the Ch 2 gap, Ch 2, 1 double crochet in to the same st. Double crochet in to next 2 sts, miss the Ch 2 gap and double crochet into the next st. Repeat from* around. Slip st in to the top of the Ch 3, then slip st in to the st next to it.
Row 4 Ch 3, *1 double crochet in the next st, 2 double crochet into the Ch 2 gap, Ch 2, 1 double crochet in to the same st, 1 double crochet in to the next 3 sts, miss a stitch and double crochet in to the next st. Repeat from* around. Slip st in to the top of the Ch 3, then slip st in to the st next to it.
Row 5 Ch 3*1 double crochet in the next 2 sts, 2 double crochet into the Ch 2 gap, Ch 2, 1 double crochet in to the same st, 1 double crochet in to the next 4 sts, miss a stitch and double crochet in to the next st. Repeat from* around. Slip st in to the top of the Ch 3, then slip st in to the st next to it.

Continue this pattern until you reach your desired length. I completed 10 rows in total.

Edging

At the end of your last row change colour and complete one final row. Cut, fasten off and weave in any loose ends

Arms (Make 2, use stitch markers if needed)

Foundation Row Make a magic ring and 6 single crochets in the center, Slip stitch in to the first stitch
Row 2 2 Single crochet in each stitch around (12)
Rows 3- 4 Single crochet in each stitch around
Row 5 * Single crochet 2 together, Single crochet 1 in the next 2 stitches. Repeat from* around.
Rows 6-13 You can change colour here if you want for long sleeves. Single crochet 1 in each stitch around.

Stuff the arm, push more of the stuffing into the hand. Leave a long tail , cut yarn and sew the top shut. Make sure you still have enough yarn tail to sew the arm to the blanky.

Head + Hair (Use markers if needed)

For the hair's base follow this pattern until row 10 then stop.

Foundation Row Make a magic ring and 6 single crochets in the center, Slip stitch in to the first stitch
Row 2  Ch 1, 2 single crochets in each stitch around, Slip stitch into the first stitch (12)
Row 3 Ch 1, *2 Single crochets in the first stitch, 1 Single crochet in the next stitch, Repeat from* around, Slip stitch into the first stitch (18)
Row 4  Ch 1, *2 Single crochets in the first stitch, 1 Single crochet in the next 2 stitches, Repeat from* around, Slip stitch into the first stitch (24)
Row 5  Ch 1, *2 Single crochets in the first stitch, 1 Single crochet in the next 3 stitches, Repeat from* around, Slip stitch into the first stitch (30)
Row 6  Ch 1, *2 Single crochets in the first stitch, 1 Single crochet in the next 4 stitches, Repeat from* around, Slip stitch into the first stitch (36)
Rows 7-11  Ch 1, Single crochet in each stitch around. For rows 8-11 you don't need to slip stitch or chain 1. You can keep single crocheting around.


Row 12 *Single crochet 2 together, Single crochet 4. Repeat from* to end of row.
Row 13 *Single crochet 2 together, Single crochet 3. Repeat from* to end of row.
Row 14 * Single crochet 2, Single crochet 2 together,. Repeat from* to end of row.
Row 15 *Single crochet 2 together, Single crochet 1. Repeat from* to end of row. End with a decrease.

Weave in your ends then stuff the head.

Row 16 *Single crochet 2 together all the way around.

Leave a long tail, Cut yarn, Fasten and weave in the ends

Attach the hair base to the top of the head to an angle. Sew on the eyes. Attach all parts and weave the hair




Hair

You will need about 15-18 Inch length yarn to weave in for the hair. Fold them in half and with one strand at a time loop them around the edge of the hair base. Feel free to create your own style to the ones shown in the video. (Link above)

What you'll need

Row 1 Chain 5(counts as first half double crochet) *Ch 2 , 3 Half double crochet into the center ring,. Repeat from* around 3 more times. on the last repeat you will do 2 half double crochet instead of 3. Slip stitch in to the 3 chain of your ch 5, then slip stitch again into the next stitch
Rows 2 and onward Chain 7(counts as first half double crochet) , *2 Half double crochet into the center of the loop, 1 half double crochet in each stitch across, 2 half double crochet into the loop, Ch 4. Repeat from* around 3 more times. on the last repeat you will do 1 half double crochet instead of 2 into the loop. Slip stitch in to the 3 chain of your ch 7, then slip stitch again into the next stitch.

In the image above I completed 11 rows, but you can continue in the same pattern for a long as you want.

How To Crochet A Beak

What you'll need

5mm Hook
DK ( Light worsted weight) Yarn
Sewing Needle
Scissors 

Chain 6
You will start from the 2nd chain from the hook and you will be crochet through the top loops only. You will be crochet right around these 5 stitches.

In the 2nd chain from the hook you will do 1 single crochet. In the 2nd stitch you will do a double crochet, In the 3rd stitch you will do a treble crochet, In the 4th stitch you will do a double crochet and in the last stitch you will do a single crochet, a slip stitch and a single crochet again . This will turn your work.

You are now working on the opposite side of your chain.

In the 2nd stitch you will do a single crochet, In the 3rd stitch you will do a double crochet, In the 4th stitch you will do a treble crochet and then a double crochet in the next,in the last stitch you will do a single crochet. Fasten off and weave in your ends.

Abbreviations

Front Post- You will crochet through the posts of each stitch and not through the top stitches. You will place your hook behind the first post and crochet.



Back Post- You will crochet through the posts of each stitch and not through the top stitches. You will place your hook in front of the first post and crochet.



Foundation Row With Yarn A Ch 3, slip into the 3rd chain from the hook or make a magic circle.
Row 1 If you made the chain 3 then single crochet 2 stitches in each stitch around and Ch1, Place marker (6). If you made the magic circle then you can single crochet 6, pull yarn to close the circle and chain 1, Place marker in your chain 1 (6).
Row 2 Single crochet 2 in each stitch around. Slip stitch into the first stitch of the round and chain 1. Move your marker to the chain 1 (12)
Row 3 Single crochet 1 in the first stitch then single crochet 2 in the next stitch. Repeat pattern around ending with 2 single crochet in the last stitch. Slip stitch into the first stitch of the round and chain 1. Move your marker to the chain 1

Rows 7 - 18 Ribbing. Double crochet front post then back post. Repeat around with front post over front post and back post over back post. For every new round slip stitch in to the 3rd stitch on your previous chain and Ch3. On the last row you just slip stitch and ch1
Row 19 Slip stitch around
Row 30 Single crochet around.

Cut yarn and weave in the ends.

Rows 7- 13 Shell Pattern Ch2 (3 ch in total(Counts as first double crochet)) Into the same stitch make another double crochet, Ch1, into the same stitch again make 2 double crochet (4 double crochets in one stitch with 1 chain in the middle). Skip 2 stitches and repeat pattern again in the 3rd stitch.( 2 double crochet, ch1, 2 double crochet). You will have 7 shells by the end of the row. Slip stitch into the 3rd chain of the first double crochet then slip stitch again into the ch in the middle of the first shell. Chain 3 and start the next row. You will make your shells in the ch1 gap in the middle of the shells on the previous row. Use a marker if needed. On the last row your just need to slip stitch and Ch1
Row 14 Slip stitch in the ch1 in the middle and in between the shells on the previous row. This will make the neck of the bottle warmer slightly smaller, adjust accordingly. Ch1 place marker
Row 15 Single crochet around.

Cut yarn and weave in the ends.
